Internet addiction

Internet addiction is chronic, compulsive use of the internet that interfaces with the addicts' lives or their relationships with others. For example, addicts may spend so much time online that they are unable to perform as expected at home, work, or school. These addicts may spend hours surfing the web, playing games, or e-mailing friends and family.
In other cases, the internet addiction can cause financial problems, or worse. For example, online shoppers who go to extremes can find themselves in debt and, as a result, damage their credit, not to mention personal relationships. Still other internet addictions involve potentially dangerous or illegal activities.

These activities can include meeting people online, gambling, viewing pornography, and engaging in cyber sex. However, for internet addicts, the problem usually isn't how they use the internet, the problem is that they cannot stop using it, even if they want to.

Superstitions

Superstition is irrational and often quasi-religious belief in and reverence for the magical effects of some actions and rituals or the magical powers of some objects.
It is a worldwide phenomenon. It has come down to us from ancient times. Superstitions originated when man was helpless before nature. The element of fear and lack of scientific knowledge gave rise to superstitions. They are more deep rooted in Nepal than in the other countries. Some superstitions are supposed to bring ill-luck and danger while some others are supposed to bring luck and happiness. Superstitions sometimes lead to horrifying crimes like child sacrifices and burning of women who are believed to be witches. One should follow a superstitions belief only if it has a logical as well as a scientific reasoning behind it.
Many times when you are unwell, you must have heard the elders in the family blame it on someone's evil eye. In villages, people believe that spirits enter the body of some people and cause them to behave in a strange manner. These are all superstitions. Superstitions are the outcome of fear and ignorance of the causes of many natural and scientific phenomena. Long ago when people did not know about earthquake they felt that the tremor of the earth was caused by the steps of an approaching demon. Such ignorance can be dispelled through education.

Qualities of a Good Student

To be a good student requires skill. First, it is important to be well organized. Good students keep track of their assignments in all subjects in a daily planner. This helps them be prepared with homework and ready for tests. Second, active listening is an essential skill for good students.
When students actively listen in class, they look at the teacher or their fellow student who is speaking to focus their attention. Goof students set aside other work so they are not distracted. Third, good students recognize the value of teamwork. Working together with fellow students on a group project helps everyone learn. By also cooperating with teachers and other staff good students are responsible. When students are responsible, they take charge of their own lives and are accountable for their actions.
Clearly, it takes time and effort to develop the sills necessary to be a good student. When young men and women take the time and put in the effort to organize, actively listen, cooperate and behave responsibly, the rewards are great.

Threats of Nuclear Technology

Many people these days are afraid of nuclear technology because of the dangers associated with its use. It is true that nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to life and the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes also carries some serious risks.
Nuclear power stations provide an important source of cheap power for many industrialized nations and some developing countries. However, there is always the danger of radiation leaking from these plants. And Japan is still suffering from the problem. Even though safety precautions are taken, there have been numerous disasters such as the explosion of a nuclear plant in Russia not long ago.
Nuclear technology is even used to help cure some diseases such as cancer. Radiation can be applied to the body to burn away cancerous cells. This is, however, a dangerous procedure, and the application of radiation is almost always painful and not always successful.
The most worrying aspect of nuclear technology, though, is its use for military purposes. Enough atomic bombs have already been built to completely destroy the planet, and the real danger is that one day some country will start a war with these weapons. Too many countries now have the technology required to make such bombs, and there is currently much debate about how to control the situation.
In conclusion, nuclear technology, though has a few positive uses, is, dangerous. Therefore it would have been better if it had never been used to create nuclear weapons.
